My Students

My students humorously refer to the tangled mess of electronic equipment and cords in our classroom as "the jungle." Not only is it a challenge to keep everything organized, but our electronics taking a beating because we don't have a cart to put them on.

I teach 24 4th graders at a Title 1 school in Hawaii.

Our school reflects the diversity and rich culture of our state. They love to learn, read & draw. They have a special interest in all things related to science, including animals, plants, geography, electricity, and space. Many of them speak English as a second language, and visuals and technology play an important role in their understanding and learning.

My Project

Currently housed in a closet, the projector, speakers, and document camera get bumped and scratched when we move them around. My students and I constantly struggle with a tangle of cords when moving things in and out of the closet. When I set up electronics to use, I often have to set them up on a student's desk, hindering their work space. With an electronics cart, our classroom's technology items will finally have a home, where they can be safe and keep from getting further damage. Students will no longer have to sacrifice their work space for a projector or speaker. Thanks to a new cart, we will have convenient access to our electronics to efficiently listen to music, watch videos, interact with websites, view slide shows, and look at work samples.

Your generous donations will help protect our equipment so my future students can enjoy technology-integrated learning for years to come.

My current students will benefit because they won't have to give up their desks when we want to use one of the technology items. Your donations will help keep tomorrow's leaders interacting with technology as they learn.
