My Students

The students who attend our school are students from diverse backgrounds. Many attend our school from outside of our immediate area specifically because of the location in a small mountain community. They come because we are a high performing school and we are a Certified Wildlife Habitat as designated by the National Wildlife Federation. We utilize our outdoor areas to enhance education.

This year of distance learning, will be different but I want my students to have the same special first school experience.

The Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten students come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds and become a classroom family in our shared space. The transitional kindergarten and kindergarten children range in ages from 4 to 6 years-old. They are curious and creative children who enjoy learning and playing and who thrive in a stimulating classroom environment that supports fostering their independence.

My Project

My Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten students have been distance learning since August. Now we finally are able to learn together in our classroom at school!

I want to have new, self-esteem boosting materials to welcome them into our classroom and to make the transition easier and fun.

The pencil boxes will keep their materials organized and the name plates will ensure each student is aware of their special seat. Using the pointer fingers will help the children track words as they learn to read. The special self-esteem boosting craft will acknowledge each child.
