My Students

I am a preschool teacher in a title one school in Chesapeake, Virginia. I have 18 curious and excited students in my class. Our students are picked on a need basis and just flourish in our classroom that is rich in print, music and hands on activities.

My students love anything that is interactive and hands on.

It is so important that at the beginning of the year the room looks warm and inviting. We work so hard to make our classroom comfortable and welcoming to each and every child.

I strive to find activities and experiences that hook each child and give them exposure to academics needed for kindergarten. My students love working in small groups and love when we have new materials in the classroom.

My Project

This preschool program is most of our students first school experience. They are selected to be part of our program on a need based application. I would love to make my classroom as inviting and welcoming as possible. The lamps help create a warm and welcoming glow. We use the contact paper to cover surfaces that are old and stained. It looks so cheery and welcoming with the polka dots. I will use the welcome sign to create a new bulletin board and the tissue paper puffs to help decorate my room.

I want to create an environment that they students feel safe and loved each and every day.

A room that has an inviting feel and decor helps me reach those goals.

The page protectors will be used with dry erase markers to help the students trace their names, numbers and letters throughout the year. This helps us with less copies.
