Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are high-school-aged children who volunteer their time after school for various activities. They enjoy sports medicine and oftentimes stay after school to help their fellow students with medical care. They also spend time in our school garden, assisting with the daily operations inside our school garden and botany lab. These students are hard-working, kind and, above all, selfless. They are constantly helping others and pushing each other to do more to serve our school community.

These students often are leaders among their peers and are ready to lend a helping hand to others!

Their selflessness is inspiring daily and keeps everyone at the school motivated to do more and work as a team!

My Project

Our classroom is currently an empty canvas! With a new classroom and no decorations, our room is currently cold and uninviting. In just a few short weeks, over 250 students will be walking in the doorway. This project will allow them to enter a classroom that feels more like home! With these decorative materials, our classroom will be more comfortable and students will feel more at ease upon entering the room! This will leave them ready to learn in a more friendly and inviting atmosphere. They will be more prepared to take risks, dream big and will feel more like part of a family in their safe, student centered and decorated space!

Right now, the classroom is empty.

The materials like borders with help us decorate the bulletin boards to display student work and hang anchor charts on with the bulldog clips. The shelves will allow students to put up their created projects to remind them of the lessons they have learned like cell structures. The welcome mats will go at the doors to add a friendly feeling to the classroom and help greet students as they enter their space. The calendar blocks will allow students a visual reminder of the date as they write it on all of their papers. The letter board will be used to remind students of the learning goals and the standards associated with those goals. The storage crates, baskets and shelving will be used to hold materials, student work and other critical items in the classroom.
