My Students

It's almost time for a new school year! Time to greet new students, and welcome those who have returned from the previous year. For me, it's an exciting time of the year and I never get tired of welcoming a new group of scholars to my classroom. Every year, I like to make learning better than the previous year.

In order for my students to get started with their learning, we are in need of a few essential items for the classroom!

Items that are sure to satisfy any teachers classroom supply list needs. We are located in Washington, D.C. and many of my students' families do not have the resources needed to begin the school year. With my students being enrolled in a specialized learning program, it is important that they are provided with the resources needed to make their learning take place.

My Project

The items for this project will fulfill my students' classroom supply list needs. These are items that are used to assist with organization and work completion. It is important that my students start the school year with the materials that are needed at the beginning of the school year in order for them to become accountable with their learning!

This year we are trying an alternative approach to writing that is sure to produce authors in the classroom!

In addition to lessons in writing and grammar, I am hoping that the use of a writing journal will allow students, and myself, a chance to track their growth with writing and the organization of writing. These journals also include mini-lessons on language arts, editing, and revising their writing! Our composition books will be used for homework assignments and small group instruction. We are also able to use the 2 pocket folders for two way communication between school and home. Additional worksheets for homework, as well as organizing assignments, are another good use of the folders!

Of course, we need a bit of color to go along with our learning! Highlighters will assist students in focusing on important information that is found through text. The flair pens will be used for me to code student information in terms of scheduling and grading! I can already tell that the school year is going to be great. We are hoping that you will be able to assist our classroom with a few starter items for success!
