Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a diverse group of students that are English Language Learners. My students come from different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. My students are learning to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language and are doing so with a smile. They are beyond special because they are part of an ever-evolving neighborhood in the South Bronx persevering through daily obstacles. Many of my students speak Spanish and serve as translators in their home. Some of my students have mild to moderate special needs and are thriving while learning English. It amazes me how they enter the school every morning willing and excited to learn they are truly my inspiration.

I encourage my students to build each other up and respect each other as individuals, motivating them to reach their full potential in all areas of their life, while showing them kindness really goes a long way.

My Project

I will be using materials to support my students academics and social emotional learning. I will create a classroom environment that fosters learning both in person and online by, incorporating resource into remote instruction. Resources will help promote equity while welcoming every students differences.

As part of our everyday engagement materials will be used to implement teamwork generate questions and engage in collaborative discussions but most importantly our classroom will be a safe space for that provides a warm and visually engaging environment for all.

to accomplish this, I plan to organize my classroom and provide students with culturally response resources that includes a variety of choices to support their needs.

I hope to provide students with active learning opportunities and build their curiosity for the upcoming school year.
