This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Hello, I'm a fourth and fifth grade teacher! I work for a school in California where our majority of students come from African American and Hispanic families. Our school is a free public school, and the majority of our students come from low socioeconomic status. In addition, we are a Title I School which means that we provide free meal plans to support our families needs. What makes my students special is that they come to class ready to learn with enthusiasm and eagerness even as we deal with the pandemic. As we return back to school, I know some students are excited to return while others might feel anxious to return in the middle of a pandemic. With your support, all my students will receive classroom basics to help them continue learning!

I would like to support my 4th and 5th grade students by ensuring that they have classroom basics to support their return to in-person instruction!

My Project

As we get ready to return to a full day of instruction in the classroom, we need classroom basics! This project will help support my 4th and 5th grade Elementary students. This year I will be teaching a combo class where I teach 4th and 5th grade together.

The classroom items needed will help all students continue their learning as we prepare to return.

The 3 subject notebooks will help students keep their notes organized and it will also help keep all their math, ELA, and science notes/writing together. Pencils, markers, and highlighters will be used during reading to highlight important information, for projects, and Art projects. The hand sanitizer is to help us sanitize and clean our hands throughout the day. With the current pandemic there is no such thing as too much sanitizer, I will ensure that my students feel safe coming to class daily!
