Help Ms. Weeda

My Students

We can't get to the bottom of the ocean, but we can find out what water has in it with these hands-on, eyes-on materials.

The students that attend this college prep high school are very creative.

Learning environmental science, Earth science, and biology is fascinating to their wondrous minds. I want to take them to the bottom of the ocean, but will have to depend on their creative minds to envision what makes up the final resting place of the land water--the ocean. Working with data collection of water samples is the first step to understanding the water cycle and how precious water is.

My Project

We will be collecting water samples and testing water for bacteria and other contaminants. Working with data collection of water samples is the first step to understanding the water cycle and how precious water is. The class will also be studying the ocean and how vast it really is. All the land water travels to the ocean. We will complete a collection at different sites to test for pollution. The students are so creative that I know they will find a way to help discover ways to minimize ecological damage to our Earth.

Funding this project will provide students with real life science.

Learning about the water we consume, use, abuse, waste, and contaminate will broaden the minds of these future caretakers of the world's most precious commodity--water.
