My Project

I am a Social Worker in a South Bronx middle school seeking funding for weighted stuffed animals to help soothe my anxious students.

My office is a place where students come to de-escalate throughout the school day and many present with symptoms of anxiety and weighted stuffed animals have been proven to help soothe and ground individuals when they are anxious or stressed.

By placing a weighted stuffed animal in the arms of my students will provide them with a sense of stability from the heaviness of the toy and comfort from the softness of the material.
