My Students

I teach 20, adorable, five- and six-year-olds​. They are learning to read, write, and do the math. They are also learning how to be friends, how to follow directions, and how to maneuver in the world around them. Although they are all different, they are all curious, happy, and at times, very wiggly! They come from many different backgrounds. Some have had preschool, but some have not. They are developmentally at very different levels. They are all amazing and full of potential!

My Project

I am a regular ed teacher, but I have several students with special needs, which I think is becoming more and more common. I have students with anxiety, frequent sadness, anger management issues, as well as other neurological issues that are still being diagnosed. I would like to use these weighted stuffed animals and fidget poppers to help calm these students when they are feeling particularly upset or overstimulated. This will allow them to stay in the class whether at the carpet or at their seat and participate in our discussions and activities.
