My Project

In my job as a school social worker, I provide accommodations and interventions that help students focus on their job at school: being the best learner they can be! I currently work with several young learners who are struggling with wiggles and worries that are distracting them from staying on task. These weighted items will help them get the sensory input they need to re-set and re-focus on academics.

Weighted lap items like these help provide gentle pressure that keeps kids feeling grounded and relaxed rather than wiggly and worried.

These items will be used with children from preschool - 5th grade, in consultation with our OT and psychologist, specifically for students who are in the process of being identified for special education or 504 services.
