My Students

In our current math unit, students are using scales to investigate some very important key math vocabulary. Currently, we have a total of 38 students who are sharing one scale. The students really enjoy using the scales during free play and math exploration time.

I teach two groups of kindergarten students in the area of math.

I have a total of 38 students. Many of my students receive free and/or reduced price lunch and many come from low socio-economic homes. These children mean the world to me. I consider them my own.

My Project

My students will use these materials during free play and math exploration time to gain a better understanding of measuring. They will investigate materials to learn key vocabulary. Common Core State Standards in Mathematics will be addressed using these materials.

This project is needed because my students are currently sharing one scale to measure classroom items.

This hinders their ability to truly investigate and make observations on measuring. Through your generous donation, that students will be able to use the hands-on materials to gain a deeper understanding on measuring and mathematics.
