Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Working with neurodiverse students means it is my job as an occupational therapist to find ways to make sure their school environment is conducive to the way their brains process the world. For some of my students this is their first time in a classroom setting and their sensory systems are often in overload.

It is my goal to provide them with a calming space and calming tools both in their classrooms and therapy spaces.

With things such as Weighted Dog Stuffed Animals for Anxiety; 24 inch 4.5lbs Dog Weighted Stuffed Animals; and Weighted Lap Pad for Kids 4lbs (Weighted Lap Animals for Anxiety and Fidgety Behaviors with a Removable Hypoallergenic Glass Beads Pad - Soft and Calming helps Improve Concentration), they can be taught how to regulate their sensory systems in order to feel safe, secure, and ready to learn!

My students are so easy to love and I want to do everything I can to provide them with all the tools they need to make their school experience positive, comforting, and meaningful.
