Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our Saturday School students come to school for extra support every weekend. I teach middle school, so my students walk to school on their own, and most of them do not eat breakfast before they get to school. They arrive early in the morning, even in the cold weather, and dedicate their day to learning. The snacks and water will help them to stay focused and alert.

You can not imagine how much my students smile when they are given even the smallest treat to reenergize them.

These snacks and water are easy for me to store in my closet and then take out whenever they need some motivation. They really enjoy working while snacking... it's never a distraction for them. If anything, it makes them feel more confident and scholarly to fuel their body and their brains at the same time!

The classroom supplies will also inspire them. They absolutely love annotating their texts will different highlighters. It helps them understand what they are reading more and then to be able to analyze and discuss what they read. And the headphones are for my students who have learning difficulties and require text to speech or my English Language Learners who benefit from texts read aloud to them in English.
