My Students

I am a teacher in a low-income/poverty stricken school district. Some of my students come in hungry and not very well taken care of.

When they walk in to my room, their whole world changes.

They become happy, comfortable and more than ready to learn. They thrive in a warm and loving environment. They learn to love and love to learn! The books we have in our room makes them believe that anything is possible and hope that they can change their future to become who they want to be. Their smiles makes it all worth it! They like to move, they love to read and love lots of positive attention.

My Project

The children in my class love learning through technology. We have amazing programs on our computer that help the children learn. They learn mathematics, literacy, and lots of language skills. This is very important for the "wee' little ones. Some of our students have never used a mouse before since they are accustomed to using tablets and their "mom's" phone at home. We would like to order 2 tablets for the students to use in our classroom that have a touch screen face. This will enable them to learn in a less frustrating manner and allow them to be more independent and successful learners.
