This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We never imagine that we will see a school year like the one coming up. I know that together we can make it work.

Because of the pandemic, millions of students may be affected academically.

My students are brilliant, highly motivated individuals who come from different parts of the world. The majority of them have lived in poverty all their lives, making with their parents a harrowing journey to come to the United States. Many have experienced extreme dangers and tests of physical endurance.

Today my students attend an American school and are learning to adapt to realities very different than those they left behind, and I do not want them to lose any of it because of the pandemic. Nonetheless, they have big dreams! They dream of learning English, helping their families, and reaching their full potential. The majority of them are great athletes

Unfortunately, because of the pandemic and parent's immigration status and lack of employment, it will be very hard for their parents to provide them with the school materials and athletic clothing this school year.

Please help me provide them with the necessary tools to make their dream a reality.

My Project

The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The printer will be placed in the classroom and used to make copies for the students. Budgets at schools are very limited and with a printer, I will be able to make copies as well as to print materials I find on the internet to keep them busy and interested in learning regardless if they are in school or remote learners. The uniforms are for them to wear in school and at home. The sneakers will also be a part of their uniform.
