We Will Excel in Kindergarten With Purposeful Planning!
Help me give my students crayons, pencils, an electric pencil sharpener, and other items for an organized, well-equipped and calm classroom to help them soar.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I've been moved from 2nd grade to kindergarten. Therefore, it's almost like starting my teaching career all over again.
My charge is still the same; I want to prepare young minds for their future.
The items I am requesting will help me to accomplish this mission.
Visual cues work well for young minds. My plan is to use the programmable lights with the visual timer to help students with transitions. Giving their brain a cue that learning time is coming to an end or that it is focus time will help give a multisensory learning experience. Additionally, some children need time to prepare to change instead of a hard stop.
Triangular pencils are good to help guide children when learning to write, and they don't roll around on the table. This type of pencil allows children who may not have experience holding a pencil to more easily develop this skill with less practice.
