Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Technology is advancing everyday. I want my students to use cutting-edge technology that will lead to academic advancement in computation, problem solving, reasoning, and geometry. The laptops and nook will provide access to math PowerPoint presentations, games, videos, and flashcards.

Our wonderful school is located in sunny, southern California.

My first grade students range from gifted and talented to below grade level. Our school has won many prestigious awards. We are a Nationally Recognized School of Excellence. Funding extra projects is difficult because we do not receive money from a Title I program.

My Project

The laptops and nooks I am requesting will motivate my young math students. The laptops and nooks will provide access to different ways of introducing lessons through PowerPoint shows, apps, games, videos, and interactive e-manipulative's. This technology would be used to create math centers. The lessons would be paperless and much more interesting than completing a boring worksheet. Doing math on the computer would give each student instant feedback that lets them know if their response was correct or incorrect. Currently, I have a class math subscription to New Path Learning which is based on our state standards. I need more computers to get a small group of students completing engaging math games on their individualized level. Some students can work below grade level while other students can work above grade level. I could reach every learner in my classroom! I am also requesting a USB flash drive case and headphones to keep lessons organized and to reduce noise from the laptops.

Donations to this project will make a huge difference in the lives of these children.

Every program I purchase or download for free is based on our key math standards in first grade. Children love seeing the videos, playing the colorful games and advancing through harder levels that boost their confidence. The computers and nook would be used daily and would definitely help our future mathematicians. Thank you for considering our project!
