My Students

The technology classroom at our school is both a place of escape from the day to day, as well as a perpetual opportunity for students to explore new ways to interact and engage with the world around them.

My students have all been classified with either "emotional disturbance" or "autism" during their academic careers and presently carry IEPs in order to achieve an optimal learning experience.

All of the instruction and attention given at our school is individualized in order to foster the development of our students as they pursue a functional level of independence.

My Project

My students will use these Arduino boards and their components to begin interactive projects in the classroom that combine computer programming, basic circuitry and innovative prototyping. Students will begin to see connections between their conceptual ideas and the technological solutions they develop to solve everyday problems.

This project is really exciting because it will begin to bridge the gap between students' ideas of their own technological capabilities and the reality of the potential held by each and every one of them.
