My Students

In today's world, technology is essential for my students' education. But they must first be able to hear!

My students are fun loving teenagers with multiple disabilities ranging from physical disabilities, autism, down syndrome, hearing and speech impairments to mental retardation.

They LOVE TO LEARN and they do not allow their disabilities to impede their thirst for knowledge and their yearning to be as independent as possible. Most of my students are non-readers and require auditory and visual aids to support their learning.

My Project

I am requesting 15 Panasonic headphones to enhance instruction when working on the computer. The Panasonic headphones will allow my students to be able to hear the story being read on the computer so they can follow along to improve their reading and vocabulary. It will also allow them to focus and only hear the directions of the math skills game on the computer in front of them and not their neighbor's.

My students have incredible potential and they deserve the same resources and opportunities as their general education peers.

By supporting my project, my students will be able to focus on the story being read and improve their math skills because they are able to HEAR what's being read and asked of them.
