My Students

I am very fortunate to teach the students of this community. They are motivated, inquisitive, and really enjoy collaborating when given a project. Over the past year, parents have generously donated towards my vision of introducing STEM-based chemistry and biology labs involving amazing technology that is used to gather data.

The community in which I teach is very supportive of science education and hands-on learning.

Having the tools and resources available for their children to conduct meaningful labs provides them a quality science experience which the parents appreciate.

My Project

Every year our school sends fifteen students to compete in Science Olympiad and lately we have not moved onto the state level competition. Our students are extremely bright and super motivated but they have not had the proper resources to prepare. In these competitions, over twenty different science topics are tested, including anatomy, astronomy, geology, and forensics. During the competitions, the students collaborate as they are given rigorous questions specific to various of study. The responses are written and must be supported by evidence.

My project, We Want to Earn Medals, will provide instructional items that are essential to their success, such as helpful study guides, informative CD's, DVD's, and bestselling books.

Since there are over 20 topics that the students need to cover, I created this project to prepare them so they will feel confident enough to hopefully bring home a few medals. Go Panthers!
