My Students

Our students are ready and willing to take on the challenges of 21st-century education. They have many diverse styles of learning and need exposure to 21st-century learning resources. They need to collaborate with their peers and lead by example.

We are 95% African-American, 2% Haitian-American, 2% Hispanic, and 1% Caucasian with 94% of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.

Our school is located in the inner city of Miami, Florida. Although our students are faced with many socio-economic challenges, they seek a high-quality education to become productive citizens.

My Project

With this project, we will add digital design to our afterschool enrichment program. Our community of young scholars will learn new skills and exhibit their creative talents by making custom designs. Using Cricut technology, they will create logos for our dance, fitness, sports and/or other local teams to put on t-shirts and other apparel.

Our students are eager to display their creativity through design projects and these resources will help them accomplish this feat.

A sense of community and team spirit will accelerate when everyone is wearing custom t-shirts that were designed by our young artists.
