My Students
I teach fourth and fifth grade Title I reading in one of the best rural schools in Oklahoma. My students are a diverse group with varied levels of learning that are pulled out daily to learn new reading skills in our reading intervention lab. Our classroom is a space where students enjoy coming to learn. We are a Title I school with the majority of our students receiving free lunch.
These students have huge hearts and love to learn in non-traditional ways such as room transformations, integrating the arts into our lessons, and project-based learning.
My students have curiosity, creativity, compassion, and positive attitudes. They are truly amazing people. My school is wonderfully supportive of the active hands-on learning that we do in our classroom. I couldn't ask for a better learning environment for these students. We are truly a community!
My Project
I teach reading skills in our Title I Reading Lab to students that have struggled in their regular grade level reading classes. These students are pulled out daily to work with me in a small group to focus on needed reading strategies. We plan to use the printer ink to create our own idiom books, poetry books, and personalized projects. In addition, we will be creating task cards for learning games, reading board games, and workstation activities. We need to spice up our learning! My goal is to help each student become engaged in reading and writing and inspire them to continue long after they have left my classroom!
My students will be excited to use the new games and materials that we can create with the Brother printer ink in our classroom.
When students are excited, they are more likely to be engaged and enthusiastic about their learning. Having access to printer ink will help me to address their ever-changing abilities and tailor their learning activities for their developmental levels in a new and engaging manner.
