Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The requested items will play a crucial role in fostering both creative expression and engagement for the students. Stickers can be used as rewards or for encouragement, giving students a tangible way to celebrate their progress and achievements, which is particularly important for motivation. The inflatable PeaPod will provide comfort and a calming space for students who may need sensory regulation, helping them focus better on tasks and reduce feelings of anxiety. Each of these tools is designed to meet individual sensory, emotional, and educational needs, enhancing their overall learning experience.

The primary goal of this project is to enhance the learning environment for high school special education students by providing them with tools that support their sensory, emotional, and creative needs.

I aim to create a more inclusive and supportive classroom where students feel comfortable expressing themselves, engaging in creative activities, and accessing learning in ways that align with their individual needs and strengths. Additionally, I want to foster a sense of accomplishment and pride in their work, whether it's through artistic projects, music exploration, or personal progress. My students are special because they each bring a unique set of strengths, challenges, and perspectives to the classroom. They may experience the world in different ways, and this is reflected in how they learn and engage with their environment. They are incredibly resilient and creative, often finding ways to overcome obstacles and express themselves in unexpected and meaningful ways. Many students benefit from a variety of sensory supports, and they thrive in an environment that offers structure, consistency, and opportunities for hands-on learning. These students have diverse interests and abilities, and they continuously inspire me with their determination, creativity, and ability to learn in ways that are different but no less significant than their peers.
