Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten students rock! I teach 22 active 5 year olds at a Title I school, where over 95% of my students qualify to receive free or reduced price lunch.

In spite of the hardships my students may face, they arrive to my classroom everyday with a smile on their face and ready to learn.

Our school serves students from a low income and high poverty area. My students deal with challenges in the classroom and at home. When a child walks into my classroom, I want them to feel special and forget any hardships they may be going through.

My Project

My students are learning about saving money. They receive paper money when doing classroom chores and having good behavior.

My students will be able to use their money they have earned to purchase supplies in the store.

My students will be able to purchase pencils, erasers, glue sticks, Slinkys, rings, balls, notepads and other prizes.

My students will be earning money and learning that different things have different values, if they want to purchase items they need to begin to save money! I want them to learn not only to save , but to value money and take care of their money. In teaching these values , i hope my students learn how important it is to save money.
