Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class is a vibrant bunch of 31 English Language Learners, so essentially my students struggle with communication. Many of them have not experienced formal education from the countries they come from. This is a first grade class that is happy just being in school each day. Their backgrounds vary from each other yet their eagarness to learn and do well in school is a standard for them.

My students may not come from affluent backgrounds, yet they are rich with the love of learning.

I am grateful to be this little crew's leader because they have such a strive to do well. Many of my students are being raised by their grandparents or extended family members. I make sure each day they know that they are wanted in my class and I try to build a culture that teaches them to care for each other. They thrive on praise and rewards and that is why I want to reward them with quality resources that will make a difference in their education.

My Project

These materials will make a difference in my students' learning by helping them to read along with words that are so very unfamiliar to them. My fabulous bunch of 31 first grade English Language Learners will be able to listen and hear words that they do not understand.

By establishing this listening center of headphones, cd player, easel and caddies, my kiddies will be ready and prepared to read and write better.

This will be the perfect pick-me-up my kids need. Many of them do not have their parents living with them and they will feel special having something so special just for them.
