My Project

This year I will be teaching 3rd grade. This is a huge adjustment for students, as this is their first state testing grade! My students will learn many new and challenging skills this year. When experiencing and learning so many new things, students can become very anxious and feel big emotions. Most of my students will come to me below grade level and at times can become easily frustrated and angry when struggling to master a skill.

I would like to create a calm down corner in my classroom where my students have a safe and structured place to release and calm their big emotions.

This calming corner will also offer my students a semi private space with lots of calming tools and resources that will help guide them with effective ways to calm down.
