Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have the passion to learn and support each other in the process. Their curiosity about the different historical topics in my American History classroom is obvious when they ask so many questions. Due to the financial constraint on many of my students' families, they don't have access to a lot of resources. Therefore, it is my responsibility as well as my school's to make it possible to provide them with all of the resources available in the classroom to make their experience in my Social Studies a historical and special one. These students come to school everyday with a smile and are very eager to learn from each other and share their cultural experience as well. Finally, bringing comfort to both my general and ENL education student when learning about history.

My Project

Since our school is a Title I school and many of our students come from low income families, there is a great need for basic supplies to be made available to them in the classroom and to take home.

These materials will help the students feel welcome in their new Social Studies classroom.

They will not be intimidated by coming into school without the much needed supplies required by the class for them to be successful this academic year. The students will use the highlighters to annotate articles and various texts that will be used in class. Furthermore, the folders will help them with the organizational skills needed in middle school to succeed. Finally, this will also help them complete various projects throughout the year, making it easier for them in the classroom and to complete projects at home.
