This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Imagine moving to a new country. You walk into a classroom and you may not have ever had any formal education before. You have never read or written and you have this smiling teacher talking to you in a language you don't understand. These are the students I teach every day.
This is my class as well.
Being a kindergarten teacher, you quickly realize that many of your students are in school for the first time! We take for granted all the things they need to learn (letters, numbers, how to write a number and how to write their names). More supplies, in all aspects of learning, would definitely help my class learn and help with their foundation that is so crucial to the rest of their school careers.
My Project
The materials will help my children learn in the classroom. I need the boxes of crayons because during this time students are not allowed to share. This will allow them to have their own supplies in the classroom so they will not spread germs. When they are doing a lesson that requires them to color during writing .. they will have their own crayons and will not have to share as this is not allowed right now. It will save on time also looking for the color or making sure there are enough colors at the same table for every student. The books also will be used for writing journals so each child will have their own to work in. The color printer is so I can print things in color for them to make lessons more interactive and exciting when I am teaching them from home. The colorful materials will help to keep them engaged when they are home instead of in the classroom. Please make this possible by donating to my classroom project.
