This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Are you ready to learn about ancient history? Each day, I prepare my classroom for the 100 energetic sixth grade social studies students that will be joining me. Together, we take a journey back in time to bring history to life!

My students go to school in the South Bronx, the poorest congressional district in the country.

While they are excited to come to school each day where they feel safe and they are eager to learn, many of them do not come with basic supplies that are needed to be successful.

My Project

These supplies will be used on a daily basis in the classroom. Regardless of what students bring with them to school, with these materials they will always be prepared to learn! Imagine a classroom filled with colorful maps of ancient civilizations from around the world, travel brochures of Ancient China, diorama's of daily life in Mesopotamia and student created Egyptian pyramids! Students learn best when they are interested in the activity. Projects such as these will allow students to show off their creative side as well as what they've learned in class.

Donations to this project will help students be prepared to learn each day and provide materials like colored pencils, glue sticks, and paper for more engaging activities.

I can already see my their eyes lighting up when they see all of the new supplies for their classroom!
