My Students

I have thirty-two first graders who love to read in English and Spanish. In our school, ninety percent of the students receive free or reduced-price meals. My students have very diverse backgrounds and come together to form a wonderful community.

My first graders enjoy participating in literacy activities and they are eager writers and readers.

They love creating stories in both languages and learning new math concepts. They are eager scientists and they are always interested in learning and sharing their cultures.

My Project

I have decided to purchase a Bluetooth speaker so that my students can listen to stories from our computers in the classroom. I also have Alexa from Amazon which helps us in meditation, games and translations. It's volume is not really loud enough and sometimes it is hard to listen to it.

It would be easier for my students to be active listeners once we have the right volume for our resources.

It would also be easier for me to use other type of technology outside the classroom when we visit the garden or the park. There are so many ideas for this project.

I have also added a few more leveled book sets for our bins. I have noticed that some books are missing or damaged from years of use. I am in need of level H, I and J books for our classroom library.
