My students need laminated brightly colored posters, charts, name tags (basically anything hanging in the room) to have a comfortable and inviting learning environment!

My Students
New school. New students. A fresh classroom. School has not started just yet, so I haven't had a chance to meet my students. But, I've done a lot of research on this school and from what I have read, these students are already preforming on or above grade level... I want to keep it that way! I feel the materials requested for this project will directly benefit my student and provide them with a bright, engaging learning environment that is comfortable and inviting.
My Project
It's hard to describe what kind of classrooms the government provides for teachers.. actually I guess it's not too hard. You get desks, chairs, a white board and maybe a few bookshelves. That's all. It's our job as teachers to transform this basic room into an inviting, excited learning environment. Children love being surrounded with bright colors and it catches their attention.
Having brightly colored charts in the classroom with the current or previously learned skills is a great way to move students towards achieving success.
The students can also reference other charts for classroom rules, class jobs or just for motivation. These charts, whether for academics or just for decoration, help the students feel welcomed and engaged throughout the day. There are many free resources online, for example on Teacherspayteachers.com, that I can access and print for our room. Having a color printer and laminator for our classroom would be a huge help since we are not always promised these items within our school. I have asked for these two reasonably priced items so that the students and I can print charts or any other information for our classroom walls and laminate them to protect them from getting damaged.
