We Need Some Bearded Dragon Love!

Help me give my students a class pet. I teach students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities at a Title 1 school. My students love animals and I would like them to learn to care for a Bearded Dragon.

My Project

Having a Bearded Dragon as a classroom pet would bring smiles to my students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities at a Title 1 school. Most of the students do not get the opportunity to have a pet.

The class wants to name the Bearded Dragon "Gomer".

What is great about having a classroom pet is that my students can read or talk to the pet without feeling anxious or scared. The Bearded Dragon will give unconditional love to my students.

Gomer will also teach my students life skills such as taking care of a pet. The students will have to feed, give water, and play and give lots of TLC to our Bearded Dragon.

My students will feel special that they have a classroom pet and that they can share this experience with typical peers. Many of my students are non-verbal and Gomer will help connect them to other students.
