Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are diagnosed with autism and other disabilities. They each face challenges brought on by their diagnosis every day and struggle to communicate. Most of my students come from low-income areas, get free lunch and some even use devices to communicate. Despite their disabilities, they strive and work hard every single day and come in with big smiles on their faces, eager, and ready to learn. My students are each very special in their own ways and I am determined to do whatever I can to help meet their unique needs.

My Project

This upcoming school year will be like no other because we are still in the middle of a pandemic due to COVID 19. While there is still so much uncertainty at the moment I would like to look ahead and obtain essential personal protective equipment to help our students and staff stay protected against COVID. Face shields, masks, gowns, soap, and hand sanitizer will help ensure that we can teach and our students can learn all while taking the necessary precautions.

My students have disabilities and special needs and require extra support such as hand over hand and overall a closer proximity, which makes it difficult to be socially distant.

These materials will help to create a safer environment for us all.
