My Students
My classroom is full of 22 brilliant and curious third grade minds from diverse backgrounds. The majority of my students are English Language Learners who qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. My students absolutely love learning and make conscious efforts to do their very best in all their work.
My energetic and fun class enjoys reading and project-based learning.
Each student sets quarterly goals, and daily they strive to achieve them. My students are a classroom of learners who have shown tremendous growth intellectually and emotionally.
My Project
My students need math and literacy center stations. Third grade tends to be one of the most trying years in elementary school. Students learn multiplication, division, fractions, and for the first time ever must do long computerized standardized tests.
To best prepare my students for success in all of these new academic areas I will implement centers in the classroom to maximize time and address students individual needs.
The centers requested in this project will address the areas they students tend to struggle with such as the fractions kit, the place value write and wipe boards, the compare and contrast reading center, and the close reading center. These are just a few of the centers that will allow students to work in small groups in the areas they require the most support.
