My Students

I teach fourth and fifth-grade Title I reading in one of the best rural schools in Oklahoma. My students are a diverse group with varying levels of learning that are pulled out daily to learn new reading skills in our reading intervention lab. Our classroom is a space where students enjoy coming to learn. We are a Title I school with the majority of our students receiving free lunch.

Many of my students do not have home internet access and are struggling with keeping invested in their distance learning programs.

They love to read, and many have requested assistance to help them stay on top of their skills during this time at home. Although we cannot meet in person, the next best thing will be for me to provide them engaging opportunities to use at home now and throughout the summer.

My students have curiosity, creativity, compassion, and positive attitudes. They are truly amazing people. Together, we will make the most out of this situation and continue to make learning fun!

My Project

Many of my students do not have home internet access. This is making distance learning a challenge. In our Title I reading classroom we do daily hands on activities to reinforce reading skills. My students have truly missed having these learning opportunities. I plan to use the Epson color printer ink to create color task cards for learning games, reading board games, and color workstation activities that I can share with my students. We need to spice up our learning! My goal is to help each student become engaged in reading and writing and inspire them to continue long after they have left my classroom!

During this time of distance learning, my students will be excited to use the new games and materials that I can create with the Epson Workforce Pro color printer ink.

When students are excited, they are more likely to be engaged and enthusiastic about their learning. Having access to a color printer and ink will help me to address their ever-changing abilities and tailor their learning activities for their developmental levels in a fun and engaging manner.
