My Project

My hope is to grow my classroom library to have interesting books for my students to read that are on their level. We read daily to work on our literacy skills and talk about what we are reading. We discuss books daily: authors, stories, genres, and themes. Reading for pleasure is a huge part of our class, and my job is to get them new books that they want to pick up and read. Unfortunately, I only have a few novels/graphic novels for each reading level in my classroom library. I would love to add more books for students reading at different reading levels.

Our class is in great need of books!

We need books with a wide reading and interest level for all students to choose good fit books to read. My students love and enjoy reading, and new books will increase their interest and desire to read more as well as increase their reading stamina.

My students will be able to engage in reading and develop as readers in essential skills such as vocabulary, fluency, and expanding their comprehension.

These skills are standards, and we model, practice, and engage in these skills throughout the year in partnership, in small groups, in the whole group, and independently.
