Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kids are the sweetest 8-yr olds who have expressed a desire to come back to school just to be with their friends. I am hoping to surprise them with a beautiful classroom where they will also be excited to return to every morning to have fun, learn and grow with their friends and teachers.

.All of my students come from culturally diverse families and low socioeconomic households.

Many of them and their families experienced hardships throughout the pandemic and are still experiencing lack of permanent housing and basic needs security. My students may not have access to the most basic resources outside of school; therefore, it is important to me that I use all of the resources available to me as an educator to gather what they need including setting up a safe and comfortable space to learn.

My Project

Not only is hunting down a printer or computer taking time from our teaching students are not receiving the best materials possible due to lack of printers. They need clear, legible material and handwritten worksheets are not enough!

Our students have also been begging for homework packets (yes, they WANT homework), but it becomes difficult when we cannot fit in the time to get this for them for reasons beyond our control.

Having these printers will also help students to become more independent in this technological world we are now in and learn to print or make copies!
