This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 3rd grade students who are extremely excited for the 2019-2020 school year! They are bright, energetic, and ready to learn.

We are in a mostly low-income/high-poverty school district, with many of my students facing several challenges both in and out of the classroom.

Sometimes students in my classroom come in saying they have difficulty completing practice assignments at home because of lack of supplies and resources. We strive to make school an enjoyable experience where all students feel safe and engaged. As their teacher, I aim to foster their curiosity and love of learning.

My Project

Students having all their materials and supplies when school begins is essential to starting off the year right. These supplies will help my students throughout the school year to remain engaged in lessons and stay organized.

It is important that students come to class prepared and are ready to get into the daily lessons and not have to worry about essential needs such as school supplies that they are lacking.

Work folders will help to keep students organized while crayons, markers, and pencils will help bring their writing to life. Every year I have noticed that students struggle to have their basic needs met and school supplies are not often an afterthought that their parents can't afford.

My students are eager to return to school and will be delighted to find their own school supplies for them to use and a well-supplied​ classroom with organizational tools that work!
