Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am privileged to work with wonderful 4 year olds in a high need school. They absolutely love to listen stories and they love pretending to read books. Most of them are ready to begin learning how to read and they are very eager to do so!

Due to severe budget cuts, NYC schools are faced with having a shortage of supplies, including books. Having a variety of books and new books that are in good condition are important for children to learn how to read and love literacy. Our class needs new books that will keep the children interested and motivated to learn how to read.

Our class needs new books for the children to read. We need non-fiction books that have facts about animals (a favorite topic in our class) and fiction books that teach comprehension and are interesting. We also need a book that has just right home activities for Pre-K kids so the learning can be extended at home and a big book stand so they can pick out the big books they want to read independently.

Your help will ensure that my students have books to read. You can make it possible for my students to have a variety of books that are interesting to them and motivates them to want to read and listen to more. Please donate to this worthy cause. Thank you!
