Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My classroom is a second grade inclusion classroom that consist of children with mixed educational and social needs. My students come from a high poverty area.

I would like to develop an area in my classroom devoted to working with the children in small groups so I can individualize their learning and work on the social skills they are lacking. Second grade is an important time for my students to learn skills they will need to become lifelong readers and writers.

In order to create an area that will promote small group learning I need one teaching easel to display important information regarding the lesson, display books, and store materials needed to carry out the lesson. We will also need a kidney table where the children can sit and face me and the other children as well as be close to the teacher so they can get the help they need to complete activities.

Help prevent academic failure and promote learning so children can succeed. You can make it possible for my students to be readers and writers and succeed in life.
