My Students

I work at an awesome school in Brooklyn. However like most public schools, we are underfunded. We need a scoreboard for our High School Girls Basketball team and I am asking YOU for help. The girls at our school deserve this team and are so excited to get it up and running.

My students are great kids from mostly low income areas.

They are really counting on this team to give them something to do outside of regular school hours. Schools these days have turned into such testing factories that we need more outlets for our youth in order for them to grow emotionally and socially. I decided to start this Girls Basketball team for that exact reason. Girls have been coming out in drones to tryout for the team proving that this team is in high demand. Let's get these kids a scoreboard so we can really play ball!

My Project

This scoreboard will be such added motivation to get the girls to come to practice and games. Having things that are new and that work add value to these kids lives. Not to mention, it will help us practice and host games too! With an electronic scoreboard these girls can take pride in the gym they play in and can really start to feel like they are on a team and not just a club that doesn't have any shape or form. It's the small things that make people feel good about themselves and this item would do wonders for our newly minted program.

This new scoreboard will help us run practice more officially and will enable us to host other schools at our gym.

The girls at our school are so excited to play basketball on an official team. Let's give them the gym they deserve!
