My Students

The 28 multicultural children who I spend most of my day with are extremely hard working and come to school each day to do their absolute best. Although our classroom has the bare minimum in terms of supplies and equipment, my students make the best out of so little. It makes me feel extremely privileged to be their teacher. The children have also formed a bond with each other that goes beyond the walls of the classroom. They are very helpful to each other and the first ones to finish an assignment are also the first ones to want to help their classmates.

My students are also a very "giving" group.

Although most of their families do not have funds to spare, the children recently emptied their own piggy banks to help raise money for little boys and girls with cancer.

My Project

This project is very important to the organization and protection of materials in the classroom that allow the students some independence when selecting a book/CD to listen to. With the recent donations of many books/CD's to our classroom, displaying them so the children can see what is available, has been a problem. Currently, they are in crates and are difficult to maintain, and difficult to display. The students are having to pull out each ziplock bag the books/CD's are currently stored in, and selecting something they are interested in takes more time than it should. If this project gets funded, picking a story to listen to will go much smoother. The bags/rack could be organized into different sections like Fiction, Non-Fiction, Historical Non-Fiction, and so on. My students absolutely need this rack and bags, and I know how much they love to listen to the books/CD's we currently have. Please help us to maintain and protect our books/CD's with this rack and hanging bags!!! Thank you!!
