Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The student population at my school is 95% Hispanic, 3% African American, 1% Caucasian, and 1% Asian. Over 80% of the students in my room are learning English as a Second Language. I see about a thousand students every week, from Kindergarten to grade five.

My school is located in one of the poorest areas of the state.

Our families are plagued by poverty and high unemployment rates. All of the students receive free or reduced rate lunch, and some of them even go home without food on the weekends.

My Project

Students will use the MacBook Pro Laptop to create stop-animation videos. Students might be inspired by video games, fashion or much more! We recently received a wireless camera and iPad Pro but need a powerful and portable laptop to make our movies come to life. I want to incorporate stop animation videos into all my art classes K - 5. Students will be able to create and export the stop animation project from our camera to view during class or burn to a DVD. My students are amazing, they're creative, smart and absorb everything like a sponge.

I want to expose them to other possibilities in the arts, such as Animation.

The MacBook Pro Laptop is an extremely powerful computer. With the computer, we will be able to edit our photos and creating iMovies to share on our iPad and recordable DVDs.

Also, this laptop can be hooked up to our projector allowing the students to show off their stop animations movies created during class.
