My Students

Do you remember what gym was like when you were in school? If you do, then you were never exposed to P.E.! GYM is historic and Physical Education is current! The most enjoyable class in the school day, where students not only MOVE but they LEARN. My students have not had a new curriculum since 2005.

My students are in grades K-5!

They are very excited and eager children. My students love to come to Physical Education where they have the opportunity to socialize, exercise and LEARN. Unfortunately we have been using the same curriculum for a very long time. It would be a nightmare to see my students get bored with the material. They have learned such a great deal of information from the previous activity guide and now I can see that they are ready for new activities and learning experiences. Our school is located in a low social economic area, where outside funding and contributions are zero to none. The Physical Education program at our school receives limited funding for PE materials.

My Project

The resource that we are requesting is the Sparks 3-6 Curriculum. Sparks provides an inclusive, active, and fun curriculum for PE classes. Aligned with NASPE National Standards, SPARK PE lessons are easy to learn, and easy to teach. SPARK PE has been proven to be VERY EFFECTIVE in elementary physical education class. The Spark Curriculum will change my students lives for the better by provided new learning experiences and exciting activities during physical education and even during after school physical activities. Just as classroom teacher receives new textbooks and curriculum's to teach their children and to provide up to date/engaging learning experiences; we as Physical Educators periodically need new materials to prepare our lessons and provide the best learning experience for our students.

It is important for students to stay interested in the activites presented to them during the Physical Education lesson, so that learning can continue to occur and they will stay on task.

My student express pure passion and excitement for the Physical Education program. I am sure that with a new curriculum the sky is the limit on how much more the students can LEARN and LOVE exercising even more. Please help us get our new curriculum.
