Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students need to have access to multimedia in the classroom in order to have an excellent learning environment. I know that students learn more effectively when I present units that are rich with media. Also, having this technology in the classroom allows students to present their work as well.

Our school is a public high school in New York.

My students want to go to college and we are providing them with a strong foundation for college success. The staff at our school are very caring and dedicated and we try in many ways to enhance the academic and extracurricular opportunities that our students experience. On the whole, our students are not able to afford access to new technologies so it is very important for us to provide them in school.

My Project

If we had a new laptop we would be able to do so much more in class! The one we have now is not able to run new program formats, and it crashes frequently. The Smartboard we have is great but it is essentially a screen with speakers. This new laptop with be the "heart" and "brains" of our multimedia experience in our classroom.

This new laptop will make a huge difference in our classroom learning experiences.

It will make our multimedia activities come alive, and it will allow students to present their projects easily and effectively in class using up-to-date programs and formats. In addition, the portability of the laptop will allow me to do these activities in multiple classrooms, because I am required to work in three rooms currently.
