This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class forms part of a diverse community of learners in the heart of our community. A typical day in my classroom involves challenging students to overcome their fears as learners.

The school I am currently working in is a Title I school that services children of different backgrounds and learning abilities.

Students are exposed to hands-on activities and collaborative groups to form meaningful and long-lasting learning. My students are always eager and attentive to learn new things every day.

My Project

As an educator, it is important to find ways in which we can meet the needs of students of different learning styles and abilities. Resources, tools and even furniture that we use in the classroom can impact the way in which we deliver information for students to understand. A kidney table will allow me to circulate my small groups easier and teach my students of special needs, English language learners, or struggling readers more personally, thus leading to a positive learning experience. The kidney table also has more space for my first graders to fit and feel comfortable when in guided reading groups or guided math groups.
