This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a Title 1, at-risk school, with a population of over 70% English Language Learners. The majority of our kids are struggling with so many outside challenges.

School is the one place our kids can feel loved, supported, safe and secure!

We are very fortunate to be able to give our students an opportunity to participate in sports programs, such as cheerleading! Our cheerleaders work so hard trying to conquer and surpass their goals! We had an amazing season. My team is a group of diverse young ladies that compete with teams and schools that have years of cheer and gymnastics experience. We do not have that advantage. We work hard, set goals, and do everything we can to make it happen! Our cheerleaders work so hard trying to conquer and surpass their goals! We had an amazing season. My Project

My cheerleaders need a Bluetooth speaker. Having a shared practice space makes it difficult to communicate with my cheerleaders. The speaker will be very useful because I play the music loud and speak through the microphone.

Safety is also a big portion as to why we need the speaker.

We share the gym with other teams which makes it really hard to hear one another. With the speaker, I can speak through the microphone to insure that every cheerleader is engaged in our practice rather than the other teams that are in the gym with us.

My girls are very motivated and eager to learn. It is important for these athletes to continue to grow as a team in a sport they love to do!
