My Project
Help my students explore sound as they learn to use the tools and features of a digital audio workstation, or a DAW. They'll use this tool to sample sounds from their environment, alter those sounds with tools in the workstation, and sequence them into musical compositions.
Using the standalone DAW, students will not have the distraction of a computer that runs other apps and games, and they will have the opportunity to learn about the relationships between the various ways we can alter sound and the sounds' visible waveforms.
This type of relational understanding increases students ability to make other connections in other topics and contexts.
