My Students

My class consists of 14 wonderful students ages three to five. Each student is unique and full of life. My students have special needs consisting of Down Syndrome, Autism or Developmentally Delayed but the one thing they have in common is they all love to learn.

Little hands, inquiring minds, active feet, and big hearts; this describes my class perfectly.

My students love to interact with technology, listen and dance to music, read books and play. They learn best when using their eyes, ears, and hands to participate in activities.

Since my class is usually the first school experience these students have, I try to make it the best! It is important to make my students' preschool experience wonderful so they have a love for learning and a positive interaction with school.

My Project

Toys are used to improve play, social and communication skills. We need a new baby doll in our dramatic play area to work on imaginative play. Working on building and creating will be lots of fun using magnetic tile. Magnetic letters and numbers will allow my students to explore with music. The outdoor basketball goal will allow for social interaction with friends while working on gross motor skills. My students will be in for a surprise with the pop up bugs that will have them using their fine motor skills to pop up bugs. My students are engaged with cause and effect toys like the car and ball ramps.

Toys are important to learning in my preschool classroom.

I use toys to improve gross and fine motor, play skills, social skills and communication skills. These toys will be put to good use in my classroom.
